Lovely Professional University has recently been ranked among top 15 private B-Schools in India. This is indicated for this year’s survey in the April-2011 issue of ‘Bhaskar Lakshya’– a popular monthly magazine. In this regard, the Chancellor of the University, Mr Ashok Mittal informed the media: “The survey has ranked our University at number 13 among top 50 such schools of the country. It is the consistency across all parameters of survey which has enabled it to be one among top.”He further said, “Top Magazines, Newspapers and TV Channels have been regularly considering LPU as one of the leading Universities in providing quality education. Thus these have provided good rankings to the University in various areas like placements, industry interface, infrastructure, international relations, Health Care etc.” Adding more, he said: “It is good to know that well-reputed magazines are also keen to improve & upgrade such crucial surveys. These surveys actually have a huge impact on students who find it difficult at times to choose among the lot. Such up-gradations are really appreciable.”

In this line, Star News has already awarded LPU with national ‘Outstanding B-School – North’ and’B-School Leadership – National’ Award. Whereas, Zee News ranks it as11th Best University in Placements, 16th in providing Best Study Environment and 17th Best University (Overall) in India. The Financial Express of Indian Express Group holds it1st (with A++ grade) in Infrastructure in India, 4th (with A++ grade) Best University across India, 4th(with A++ grade) Best Placements across India, 4th(with A++ grade) in Intellectual Capital across. It is worth illustration that the University has achieved this ranking scaling with other reputed B-Schools of the country like SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (Mumbai), Mudra Institute of Communication (Ahemdabad), Xavier Institute of Management (Bhuvnaeshwar), Christ University-Institute of Management, Bangluru. In fact, ever since its inception, LPU has excelled in providing students with state-of-the-art facilities towards dissemination of knowledge. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Young Indians (YI), and Lovely Professional University collaboratively launched ‘Young Indian LPU Net’-a platform for young Indians to realize the dream of a developed nation. On this occasion, Dr. Parul Pandey (Chair, YI Nets) and Ms Swati Bansal( Executive CII) were prominently present. The MoU was signed in Chandigarh between CII-YI & LPU where Dr Navita Mahajan, Chairperson, Yi Chandigarh and Director LPU signed it. Dr Navita Mahajan remarked that “It gives Yi immense pleasure to start the first Yi Net in Punjab with Lovely Professional University. We look forward to great participation and involvement with lovely professional university in the year ahead.” Mr Akshay Bector, Chairman, CII Punjab Council and Dr Pandey witnessed this historical endeavour. This is the first Yi Net in Punjab and Yi has Chapters in more than 16 cities across India. On this occasion, Dr Pandey expressed: “It gives Yi immense pleasure to start the first Yi Net in Punjab with LPU. We look forward to great participation and involvement in the years ahead.” Whereas, Ms Bansal remarked: “it is going to be a great support to Yi in Punjab.”

The Chancellor of LPU, Mr Ashok Mittal said: “The collaboration with YI will provide a special platform to the students of the University and also help them to become the part of the Indian Growth Saga. As per the provisions, both the organizations are going to facilitate youth to unleash their potential and create a positive impact and to work effectively for promoting leadership skills among themselves.” He further mentioned: “More activities have been planned along with in near future including initiative to empower the students to work in the fields of education, employment, environment, youth affairs and health. The arrangement will also facilitate the university students’ interaction with young achievers.”

Yi Student Nets are formed by CII with a vision to influence, inspire and motivate the students across the country. These focus on bridging the gap between students and society by involving them in building a better India. The Yi membership base includes young progressive Indians comprising of entrepreneurs, professionals and progressive achievers from different walks of life.

Moment of Pride for both Punjab and the University to win such Coveted awards

Lovely Professional University has won National ‘Outstanding B-School – North’ & ‘B-School Leadership – National’ Awards at the STAR NEWS National B-School Awards, for its illustrious growth in related field. The award ceremony was held in Mumbai. The Chairman of Lovely Group Mr Romesh Mittal has himself received these coveted awards, bringing laurels not only to the Punjab but the whole of Northern region. Ms. Shaila Mehta (Onward Technologies Limited), Dr. Sunil Gupta (Chief learning officer, Ideas management consultants), Ms. Jayati Mithra (Director, ABBSCISCA) and Mr. Sanjay Muthal (MD, NUGRID) have bestowed upon these honours.

It is illustrative that the STAR NEWS National B-School Awards recognize educational institutions that are innovative, modern and industry-related in their curriculum in Marketing, Advertising, Marketing Communications, etc. The awards are well researched and chosen by an independent jury and a panel of professionals who believe in nurturing talent and in recognizing the best of the best. It has the advantage of being the cynosure of the corporate world and the opportunity to draw from the finest in the industry.” He further said: ” In fact the growth of Lovely Group has regularly made a great and positive difference for not only Punjab but the Nation also.”

Looking in hindsight, Indian professionals have always been welcomed in the West. With Indian education poised for greater heights, US universities are excited to get tied up with Indian counterparts to learn the models and methodologies that produce the best students in the whole world. A team of three senior executives from North Dakota State University, USA visited Lovely Professional University and signed a MoU with the senior management of the latter with the aim of bringing the best of US education to the door steps of Indian students.

As a part of the visit, NDSU evaluated 41 courses of LPU in Management and Engineering areas, with a possible arrangement of student transfer. The online curriculum of NDSU was discussed and initial matching of course scheme of BBA, MBA (Business) and B.Tech (Mechanical) was proposed to be done by LPU shortly. NDSU also discussed the evaluation and conversion of transcripts and grade system (both CGPA to GPA and vice versa) by WES (World Education Services). In addition, grading system of both the Universities was discussed to bring about a parity in the evaluation standards of the two Universities.

The draft MoU that both LPU and NDSU signed will work together in the field of Twinning Programs in the Management and Engineering areas at Under Graduate and Graduate level; Faculty Exchange programs, Joint Research programs, Mapping of Curriculum for Credit Transfer in the field of Masters of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Technology, Cultural visit by the Students of NDSU at LPU, Student Exchange programs. This will encourage future cooperation between the two Universities aiming at striking the best of both worlds, for the betterment of learning imparted at respective campuses.
